Rick Hull Profile Summary

Who is Rick Hull?

“It might help if you knew a little about me.  I wasn't stolen by gypsies at the age of five and sold to the circus but my life hasn't been dull either.  In my years on this planet I have had the privilege of riding in fighter jets with the Blue Angeles.  Exploring the Sahara desert on the back of a camel.  Riding a motorcycle across Europe and receiving colorful speeding tickets in seven different languages, none of which I truly deserved.

Spending time at The White House interviewing and talking with several U.S. Presidents and a few others who thought they were.  Being chased by Hezbollah terrorists through the streets of Beirut.  Getting shot at in Beirut.  Anchoring the news at CNN for a few years in Atlanta and New York and reporting from a number of less glamorous places.  Writing/co-producing and functioning as senior correspondent on more than 21 documentaries and television news related specials. Winning an Emmy.  Winning some other good stuff too.  Never winning the lottery but wishing I had.  Writing four novels at once with at least 20 more still in the oven.  Exploring the ancient ruins and Kasbah’s of Morocco.  Getting into a really stupid argument with a bunch of diamond smugglers in a Casablanca bar…really stupid.  Chasing hurricanes in the Gulf of Mexico without getting scared.  Chasing tornados in Oklahoma and getting scared out of my skin.

Pumping gas and wiping windshields at a real service station to pay for dates with my high school sweetheart.  Writing love letters by a campfire under a big Montana sky, and knowing that she still has them all these years later. Tearing my jeans jumping over fences as police raided an under age drinking party.  Never taking street drugs of any kind, never.

Almost becoming an Eagle Scout.  Just two merit badges away when I discovered girls and completely lost interest in square knots.  Working as an on-air personality at some of America’s top radio stations and getting to meet and party with The Rolling Stones, The Beach Boys, Bob Dylan, Rod Stewart, Elton John, Eric Clapton and about anyone else you could possibly name.

Being fired from a top management position at one of America’s largest and most prestigious corporations.  Apparently the Chairman of The Board didn't understand who I thought I was.  Starting my own prestigious corporation and becoming its President and CEO.  Not getting fired from my own corporation and becoming quite successful.

Holding to a firm belief that life is not a spectator sport and should actually be lived.

It’s not my whole life by a long shot, but I wanted to hold this to one page.  I do sometimes wonder what would have happened if I had jumped on that gypsy wagon at the age of five.”
